Transportation and lodging around conference venue Riocentro have received a big boost in order to host these events.
Conference venue Riocentro is 32 km away from Galeão–Antônio Carlos Jobim International Airport (GIG) and 35km away from the Santos Dumont Airport (SDU) There are more than 300 weekly direct flights between Rio and foreign cities. Rio is a must on the itinerary of all who visit Brazil.

The main forms of public transportation in Rio are metro underground trains, buses, and the BRT (Bus Rapid Transit) system.
There are bus and BRT stops close to ICM venue RioCentro. Yellow cabs are a cost effective transportation option for groups of people.

If you have time and interest, there are many other attractions near Rio de Janeiro. Neighboring towns a few kilometers away offer myriad options for sightseeing. Some highlights: Petropolis, Teresopolis and Itaipava are cities in the mountains within reach. And try Buzios, Ilha Grande or Paraty to enjoy idyllic beaches and pleasant surroundings.

The region where ICM 2018 takes place is in the most cosmopolitan region of the country, where both Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are located. The Sudeste (Southeast Region) also covers the states of Espírito Santo and Minas Gerais – famous for its historical cities such as Ouro Preto, Diamantina and Tiradentes.
The triple Brazil-Paraguay-Argentina frontier is located in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, Paraná state. The Iguazu Falls are impressive in terms of beauty, as are the charming cities of Gramado and Canela, in the Serra Gaúcha, and the beautiful beaches of Florianópolis, in the state of Santa Catarina.
